- Lounge access
Recently stayed for one night & booked a "Standard King" - upgraded to King Grand Premier I day prior to arrival (due to Mrs NoY Diamond status. Room not ready at around midday so we had lunch at the lobby lounge/cafe, which was very good, & received a text around 1pm to collect our keys. Apparently we'd been allocated a King Junior suite which is the same size as KG Premier we'd originally been allocated but with no Level 45 access (tagged to the room) Instead of a chaise longue in the room a giant leather sofa running the width of the floor-ceiling windows. I'd actually prefer the prior room but no biggie (8/10) Pool a good temp (but needs a re-grout/refurb) & service good at the swim-up pool bar. However service & amenities at The Hub ("Exec Lounge") were pretty poor. Not enough tables (despite available floor space), not enough staff & many empty food stations/bowls etc etc. Awful quality spirits & very basic wines. Only one of the 2 beers was available. Staff pleasant but overwhelmed. We left disappointed & whilst we recognise the gesture of offering Diamonds something it just felt cheap & cack-handed, frankly (6/10). Breakfast at Rosewater was also somewhat underwhelming. Similarly chaotic although the Diamond section was a godsend albeit similarly difficult to achieve decent service given the capacity. 20 minutes to get hot drinks & same for food to arrive from alacarte menu. (6.5/7/10). A manager did ask to see us at checkout to seek feedback which was duly provided. Our feedback was well-received & very professionally dealt with & due "compensation" was offered should we return. Overall it was decent stay but the shortcomings could/should have been anticipated & mitigated rather than offering post-stay mitigation. Overall stay 7 to 7.5/10.
