Stop #2 on family Vegas vacation - stayed here to use as home base for Summerlin/NE Vegas activities (Spring Mountains Natl Rec Area, Aviators game at LV Ballpark) and also to burn accumulated 35K FNC which I hadn't earmarked for any other trip prior to expiration. Did not attempt for any room upgrade from 2Q (either using SNA or via inquiry) since seems all standard suites are 1K and wanted 2 beds (not a pullout sofa). That said, standard rooms are amply spacious (500 sq ft-ish) - especially roomy closet (with light) and bathroom (separate jetted tub and rainfall shower). Again - globally a positive experience. Beyond space, rooms are finished nicely on initial look - robes, ceiling fan, robust AC unit. However, the details don't always follow through on the "polish": for example, 3 of the 4 bedside reading "flip lights" that pop out of the headboard were not usable (either light not operational, didn't stay extended, or both); patio with nice view of greenery, but no seating (despite space) and couldn't open lock on door even if wanted. Not deal-breakers, but takes away from sense of luxury that I'm guessing hotel is going for. Did have to pay $39 resort fee/daily, which provides mish-mosh of amenities, related to hotel grounds (1 hr bike rental, rental for horseshoes and bocce ball), golf (shuttle to TPC and "access" to putting green), and casino ($5 slot credit, 2 "bingo packs"). This also includes free valet parking - consequently, this resulted in 9-car deep line-up when we arrived for check-in, so elected simply to self-park in surface lot (for which lot was 50 paces beyond valet lot, so certainly not a big hike) - and $10/day FNB credit. Latter applied successfully at check-out. Plat breakfast offered was "continental" at casino buffet - elected to take points instead. Final thought: In contrast to most other hotels, this JW is providing daily housekeeping services. However - seemed to verge on other extreme. On Sunday morning, received knock at 9 am - I was awake, but 2 others in room asleep and 1 in shower. After only a few seconds, door opened and housekeeper asked if we were checking out - after reply no, she inquired if she could come in and refresh right now (despite it being somewhat clear - at least to me - that occupants still in bed). I declined. Then on Monday morning (day of check out), similar scenario with same individual, only (1) slightly before 8 am; (2) no knock - just attempted to enter directly [thankfully, had latched door this day]. I am somewhat flummoxed by this level of aggressiveness - while I recognize need to turn over rooms, this both seems exceedingly inefficient and flat out discourteous to guests. I did identify this to my FDA upon check out who - to her credit - seemed similarly flummoxed and pro-actively offered points for service recovery (which I was not necessarily fishing for) - latter showed up in my account later same day.
