Stayed June 2022 · 3 nights
Platinum Elite1K Deluxe City View→1K One-Bedroom Executive Suite (Suite Night Award)Upgraded

Wrapping up 3-night stay while attending conference at nearby convention center (5 block walk away, not terrible even in 110+ degree heat). Took light rail from airport upon arrival to PHX - Van Buren/Central Ave station is directly across street from hotel. Very similar experience as another member had posted previously: applied SNA for stay, and upgraded from standard 1K into king executive suite, with separate living space (comfortable sofa, 2 armchairs, dining table with 4 chairs), bedroom, and bathroom with soaking tub, rainfall shower, and sunrise views (my room is in NE corner of hotel). Furnishings are in great shape. Not a ton of lighting fixtures, but given floor-to-ceiling windows really not necessary for most of day (at least in mid-June) given sufficient natural light. Perhaps not surprising given the hotel's older bones, not a large number of outlets and/or charging ports, but sufficient for just me. Single thermostat for entire suite which seems sluggish (? non-responsive): it's read 69 degrees for entire time despite me adjusting temp lower at times (and I haven't overtly felt a lot of air movement, though it certainly has been quiet - no HVAC noise). Room was immaculately clean, and for most part, the entire hotel has been very clean. Thankfully, my service experience has been better than most recent post suggests. FDA all have been enthusiastic and warm - quick to greet while coming and going from hotel. I've had all in-app chat requests responded to promptly and cheerfully. 11th floor lounge remains closed - no compensation for this (aligned with Bonvoy T&C for Westin). Daily $25 destination fee in place, though includes (among other things) daily $25 F&B credit for on-site Jacy & Dakota's restaurant and bar. Given this, elected to have breakfast in restaurant for 2 days (and take points as the welcome amenity) - generally could make $25 cover most of breakfast for one with tip (entrees $12-18, though coffee is $5 - includes refills). Food fine, but nothing extraordinary. Only other (minor) gripe: Folio sent to me this morning via email, showing internet fees (listed as 'Telephone') and restaurant charges on invoice without credit applied. Contacted FDA, who explained that she had already manually adjusted the folio to remove charges. I appreciate that... but then why have folio auto-sent so early in the morning without the adjustments made? Caused some unnecessary alarm. Assigned to 1404 - based on room layout, appears that each floor (13-18) may have executive/corner suites. Living area viewed from bedroom (sliding) door Bedroom Bathroom - toilet to left of vanity, rainfall shower to right.
