First to comment on this downtown property: Stayed for single night 9/23-24 (in area to meet work colleague from nearby hospital); as name implies, close to revitalized Mill District (including Guthrie Theater, Stone Arch Bridge and adjacent parks on both sides of the Mississippi) two blocks to north and US Bank Stadium two blocks to south. Canopy is proximate to several other "trendy" hotels with similar aesthetic, including Moxy and Radisson RED. I drove, and parked in secured commercial lot (named the "Mills Fleet Farm" garage) directly across from hotel entrance for $17/day - though noted that city ramps with lower rates would have only been only 2-3 blocks walk away. Upgraded three days prior to arrival from King Bed (standard) to King Bed Deluxe room. Checked in online, but did not receive digital key (pre-arrival, or at any point). Nonplussed desk agent (not rude, but not really friendly either) handed me two caramels and key card, and directed me to pick out my own waters from lobby fridge. She did clarify that I'd receive $12 credit at Umbra restaurant/bar only - this is in lobby by main entrance, though hotel is connected to the Bacon Social Club (which you cannot use Honors benefit at). Assigned to 322. Sizable bedroom, with large, usable desk space. Lighting in this space was adequate (sconces on side, under ledge lighting at work desk) but not particularly bright - "dim" and mysterious was general motif of design, I suppose. Lighting was not a problem in the (significantly) larger bathroom area, including foyer/walk-in closet with both Nespresso and refrigerator drawer, room for sink/vanity, and separate (doored off) room for toilet and shower. Ordered drinks at Umbra bar (after meeting colleague), and credit successfully/appropriately applied to folio next morning. I did not eat food at Umbra, so can't comment. [Walked with colleague to Spoon and Stable, which was amazing and worth the 1 mile walk.]
