Diamond EliteOne Bedroom Suite→Same room as bookedNo upgrade

Just had a couple of stays here totalling 9 nights & overall very happy. We booked a One Bedroom Suite & were very happy with these. Spacious & well equipped with proper kitchen (no oven though, just microwave & cooker hob). Proper dining table & chairs. Spacious bathroom & a powerful shower. Living room sofa was a bit "cheap" feeling & a little hard but "ok". Breakfast had a good selection of hot & cold dishes & staff were very friendly & efficient. Complimentary coffee & tea in the cafe area was very welcome. Only negative was the disruption that the many dozens of long term Korean students staying here (& the HI next door) caused - they were (at times) very disruptive & noisy. Management stepped in after I alerted them & things calmed somewhat. Overall we would definitely stay again but only if we had a car (we did).

Diamond EliteClassic King Club Room→King 1 Bedroom Residence with Balcony, marina viewUpgraded

Just wrapping up a 2 night stay here & have a few thoughts. Booked Classic King Club Room on Ambassador BOGO rate, pre-upgraded to King Junior Suite but eventually ended up In King 1 Bedroom Residence with Balcony & marina views. Room was well equipped but fit-out was clearly done on-the-cheap & it is prematurely showing it's age, is dull & just rather unappealing to me. Club Lounge is a bit of a strange one. It feels like a bit of an afterthought as its small, is squeezed into a narrow space & with a wrap around narrow terrace. Once again, it feels rather worn. Service here was pretty good & there was a decent enough evening service with plenty of good booze options & the usual lounge bites. A calm breakfast vibe was prevalent (which was most welcome) - we didn't try afternoon tea. Room service was efficient & courteous as were the door guys who were well drilled with taxis etc. I'd say there is nothing bad about the hotel its just dull & bobs about in the middle of a sea of many more appealing options in Dubai. I chose it purely for the location & to burn the Ambassador BOGO certificate. I wouldn't stay again (& will not be renewing my Ambassador membership) as I much prefer Hilton/Marriott options in the locations that I visit. An example of this is that we travelled from the Doubletree Hilton Yas Island in Abu Dhabi & we MUCH preferred that property. Beautifully fresh & bright new property with a higher quality fit-out & better layout/space. The Staybridge there is ok but older & not as appealing - YMMV but there you go.

Diamond EliteKing Classic City View→Executive Deluxe RoomUpgraded
    • Free breakfast

Stayed here for 2 nights last week - it was a very positive stay. Benefits for the Executive Deluxe Room (upgraded from King Classic City View but with some key additional amenities):Complimentary Buffet Breakfast at Espresso Restaurant or Cocktails Hours at Balcony Lounge 18:00-19:00 Hrs, (Choose either one) - I chose drinks on day 1 & breakfast for subsequent 2 days - this was granted with no issues. Evening drinks didn't include snacks except nuts but were of high quality & replenished frequently. Breakfast was just "OK' - bakery items were awful, rest was average quality. Decent service all round. 2 complimentary items of pressing service per stay (except laundry & dry cleaning) - done very swiftly. Also did laundry & received 15% discount. The current plan is for the hotel to close completely in May 2022 & reopen early 2023. The hotel public areas & guest rooms will be gutted & total reimagined. I was told this by a Manager who has said previous delays in the refurbishment were as a result of contractor delays.

Diamond EliteClub InterContinental King→Club InterContinental King One Bedroom SuiteUpgraded

This from my stay in August 2021: Booked a Club Intercontinental King, upgraded to Club Intercontinental King One Bedroom Suite. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was extremely comfortable & had very high quality linens & pillows. The club lounge was closed (covid) but full breakfast offered in restaurant, all day tea/coffee, afternoon tea & evening cocktails offered in lounge bar/cafe. I experienced good member recognition, generally excellent service & most staff provided pretty pro-active service too. There was however inconsistent service at breakfast/missing items etc etc. The hotel is very well maintained but is somewhat dated. Rooms are in great condition & IME the suite we had was very comfortable. The pool is quite pleasant too & we received good service & decent F&B there too. Can recommend Cut by Wolfgang Puck for dinner, which is located at Four Seasons hotel, a 15 minute cab ride away. Its a decent hotel but I used a weekend 2-4-1 voucher otherwise its a bit pricey for what it is.
