It was a bit disappointing, as we were supposedly given a better room on a higher floor, which could arguably be considered an upgrade, although the room was the same size as a standard room. So it was a little disappointing that we didn’t get one of the suites, which the hotel also has available. We also didn’t receive any welcome gift, a bottle of water, or anything similar, and our status was never mentioned at any point. So, in reality, the only real benefit was breakfast, which was rather underwhelming, although given the price we paid, that was somewhat expected. The hotel is clearly showing its age and feels quite worn out. There was a worn armchair, loose electrical sockets, and various other signs that the property is due for a renovation. That said, we booked it at a fairly good price, so I’d say it was still acceptable considering what we paid. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. What surprised me, however, was that basic items such as a shaving kit and a toothbrush were available only for an additional fee. I honestly haven’t seen that even in the cheapest budget Radisson or Hilton properties. If you’ve stayed at Radisson Blu Park Athens, this hotel has a somewhat similar vibe. I’d say the hotel in Athens was probably slightly better overall.
