    Rooms were pretty good. Well maintained although AC is crappy. Excellent rain shower & superb water pressure. Bath robes, no slippers, OK toiletries, minifridge - unfilled. Bottled water. How is the exec. lounge? Not eligible. What was good and what was bad? Good - Complimentary breakfast, fruit plate, bottled water, & GBP15 restaurant/bar credit. Bad - Lack of decent upgrade. AC. Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? High redemption rates but yes would return

    Had a decent stay here last week (had to position at T2 due to rail strikes etc). Booked King High Floor View Room (only bookable option!) & was upgraded to a King Family View Room, with Sofa Bed. The complimentary breakfast was of excellent quality (decent back bacon, fried eggs etc), the wi-fi was decent too. Restaurant (for dinner) was full at 7pm but the same menu was available in the bar opposite & service & food were decent. Why oh why position the place opposite the main road & flyover I have no idea - several people were heard commenting on the naff "views". LOL. Didn't bother with the top floor bar as food options too limited. Good sleep & at departures at 6.45am . All-in-all this place does what is says on the tin.

    First ever stay at this property. Overall positive but (spoiler!) we probably wouldn't return unless a stellar deal was available or this location is a must-have; there are other properties that do a better job for us. YMMV, naturally; Likes: Upgraded to a One Bed Suite; Excellent breakfast in JW Cafe; Refurbished rooms; Service-minded staff; Dislikes; Executive Lounge dated & with poor seating options & very cafeteria-like; Dated public areas; horrible traffic/difficulty getting Taxis/Grabs; only one very small bathroom in the Suite;

    I have stayed at the HGI Bang Tao 3 times now (December 2021, March 2022, April 2022) all one nighters due to "quarantine" requirements. Although I only completed the first stay overnight as my negative Covid tests on 2 occasions allowed me to leave before bed time & my house is only about 10 minutes away! I too booked lowest cost rooms & was upgraded to King Premium Balcony rooms twice - the other time not. I echo the above comments in general, although I found breakfast a real weak spot, poor quality all around IME - I did feed this back so hopefully its better now. Recommended for a low cost non-resort style stay.

    No upgrade with 24 hours of stay & my message to the hotel via app went unanswered. Was "upgraded" at checkin to corner room which is a few feet larger than the room I booked. "Suites sold out" I was told. Not terribly impressed given the relatively low occupancy.

    Stayed here for 2 nights last week - it was a very positive stay. Benefits for the Executive Deluxe Room (upgraded from King Classic City View but with some key additional amenities):Complimentary Buffet Breakfast at Espresso Restaurant or Cocktails Hours at Balcony Lounge 18:00-19:00 Hrs, (Choose either one) - I chose drinks on day 1 & breakfast for subsequent 2 days - this was granted with no issues. Evening drinks didn't include snacks except nuts but were of high quality & replenished frequently. Breakfast was just "OK' - bakery items were awful, rest was average quality. Decent service all round. 2 complimentary items of pressing service per stay (except laundry & dry cleaning) - done very swiftly. Also did laundry & received 15% discount. The current plan is for the hotel to close completely in May 2022 & reopen early 2023. The hotel public areas & guest rooms will be gutted & total reimagined. I was told this by a Manager who has said previous delays in the refurbishment were as a result of contractor delays.
