Titanium EliteDeluxe Twincheapest→Premier Deluxe Twin with Club Lounge accessUpgraded
    • Lounge access
    • Room with a view

We love luxury hotels with excellent service, good breakfast buffet and club lounge (but Prince does not give Club Lounge access to Titanium). That's one of the reasons why the choice was so hard. Booked 5 nights on points and used a 85K FNA plus 10K points for the night before our flight. We booked the least cost room, which was a Deluxe Twin, 452 sq ft. I emailed the hotel prior to arrival and requested an upgraded room for my birthday if available. They were super nice and apologetic because they were sold out but offered a Premier Deluxe Twin 495 sq ft and Club Lounge access. Needless to say, we were beyond grateful. I should cut to the chase and say as frequent travelers, who value a luxury hotel with service to match, the Prince Gallery was a hit. We loved everything about it and can't think of any negatives. Club Lounge- one of the best club lounges we've encountered. It was on the 34th floor and gorgeous views, especially in the evening. Very quiet when we were there, maybe 2 other couples on most nights we were there. Excellent selection of high quality food, like escargot, meat dish, shrimp, ceviche, soup, desserts, etc. Rotates every evening. Room- the view of Mt Fuji from the room was amazing. The decor was calm and upscale. Nice amenities, excellent housekeeping service. Breakfast- was buffet with the usual selection of eggs, protein, breads, pastries, miso soup, fish, fruit, salad and order off the menu selections. We especially liked the Truffled Eggs. Gorgeous views, good food and nice service. Location - the subway was a 3 min walk from the hotel and got us everywhere in Tokyo. Very convenient and easy to use. About 25 min to Haneda airport and very easy to use Uber at $55. usd. I highly recommend the Prince Gallery and especially book the Club Lounge access room. It will not disappoint. It was a lovely stay. You will thank me later.

Titanium EliteSuperior King→Higashiyama One Bedroom SuiteUpgraded
    • Lounge access

The Westin Miyako Kyoto upgraded us from a standard Superior King 301 sq ft to their largest Higashiyama 1 bed suite 1,485 sq ft. The view of the trees from the room was stunning. It had living, dining room, 1.5 bath and large bedroom. We were very appreciative. Breakfast -the breakfast in the restaurant was grand, in a large space with everything you could want including ice cream. I liked the rice balls with salmon wrapped in seaweed. The salad bar was also very impressive. There were hot dishes and made to order eggs. Lots of Japanese foods to chose from. Club Lounge - the lounge again was underwhelming compared to the Prince Gallery, but we had enough to eat and enjoyed our time in the lounge. The other guests were very friendly and there were a couple of nights in where we closed the lounge down. Location - the subway station was almost next door and it was handy to get us around Kyoto. Seems like there are limited restaurants and shops near the hotel, but the free shuttle will take you to the Central Train Station. Kyoto is a lot bigger then I thought and the subway, while it is good, it doesn't go directly to some of the sights and you have to take a bus in some cases. Concierge - luckily there was a nice person working who was very detailed oriented and spoke good english and he helped me map out our routes for each day of sightseeing. There are a few other concierge that are not as helpful, mostly because of the language barrier. Pool and spa - we had a free afternoon by the pool and I also bought some products from the spa with my $100. resort credit. (Booked w/Stars agent) The nice upgrade to the huge suite and the fun times we had in the club lounge made our stay very enjoyable. During May, it's the high season, so pricey, but other times it can be had for a bargain. Kyoto is lovely, crowded and a bit rainy during our stay in May.

Titanium EliteDeluxe King→Junior Suite Corner RoomUpgraded
    • Lounge access

We enjoyed JW Marriott Nara for an extended stay to visit our friends. The JW Nara is a newer hotel with beautiful decor and excellent service. Room - we booked the Deluxe King 387 sq ft and got an upgraded room to Jr Suite Corner Room 463 sq ft. The decor was pleasant, no view, but it was bright and sunny. Breakfast - the breakfast in the restaurant is lovely and has made to order eggs, the usual pastries, fruit, salad, juice, protein, yogurt, miso and misc Japanese pickled items. Club Lounge- large lounge, with small bites in the evening (was underwhelming after being at the Prince Gallery). Friendly service. Location - the main part of Nara is not far, (too far to walk)the hotel has a free shuttle every 20 minutes that goes to the train station. Otherwise, it's a $12 Uber ride. Pool - the hotel was so generous to let our friend's kids come to the hotel pool. It's indoors and quite large. They had so much fun. Luggage - we used the (Yamoto) luggage forwarding service. Very efficient and the hotel arranges it. Service - I have nothing but good things to say about JW Nara and the price per night is very budget friendly for Japan. I would recommend this hotel. **Please note, across the street from the train station, is a 7-11 store and behind it is Momoshiki restaurant with the best waygu sukiyaki ever. Table top cooking, it was our best meal in Japan and most memorable meal ever. Our friends who live in Nara took us there and they are in the know. Highly recommend.

Titanium EliteBooked room→Mirage Studio with lagoon accessUpgraded
    • Fruit plate / sweets
    • Bottle of wine/champagne

We wanted to go to the Great Barrier Reef while in Australia and the Sheraton Port Douglas is the Marriott hotel we chose for being the closest entry point for reef tour. Check In -German greeted us at the lobby and warmly welcomed us. He told us we were upgraded to a Mirage Studio room with direct lagoon access and that our room was located close to the lobby. Room - The room was spacious and we appreciated the Welcome Amenity of Fruit Plate and wine, plus the upgrade. The Green Choice program, where you forgo housekeeping, gives you F/B credit of $10. day. Breakfast - The breakfast buffet was good and had the standard fare, including fresh squeezed orange juice, Asian soup (on a daily rotation) and outstanding guacamole. The service is professional and the Egg Station chef is super friendly. Location- The hotel is about a mile from Port Douglas town. You could walk there on the beach or take the SR Coach shuttle which in my opinion is a bit pricey. About $6. each way. We had a lovely dinner at Melaleuca, in town. There's also a grocery store (for snack/beverages) and Bottle Shop. Restaurant -Onsite Lagoon House restaurant at the pool was lovely and the chef met with us to tell us about the dishes and made recommendations of the Papyrus Salad and the Chicken Larb. They were so delicious, healthy and huge (we were full). Pool - the pool area is huge and there's salt and fresh water, with swim up bar. We spent one day on the loungers and enjoyed the sun. On our last day, we left a small gift and note for the hotel manager, Joseph and he came to find us at breakfast. We appreciated the friendly staff, the upgraded room, Welcome Amenity fruit plate and wine, the breakfast buffet. The hotel is alittle on the dated side. We were there during summer, which is their rainy season and low occupancy after the holiday crowds. Luckily, we avoided much of the rain. Highly recommend a snorkel trip on the Great Barrier Reef.

    • Welcome gift

The Ritz Carlton Melbourne is a new hotel and as someone that adores luxury and high end design, I fell in love with the hotel. The lobby is on the 80th floor and the views are magnificent. Location -A short easy Uber ride from the airport, the hotel location can't be beat. It is across the street from the Southern Cross train station where many bus and trams also come. Grocery store and Bottle shop across the street. Check In- Speedy check in and we learned were upgraded to a large Panoramic King. We booked with our Stars agent and received free breakfast and $100. resort credit included in our rate. Room- The room was gorgeous and had a sofa, table, chairs and a lovely bathroom with tub and shower. I took a bath with the bath salts they provided. Walk in closet and separate 1/2 bath. We requested an extra mini refrigerator and it was already in the room. Later on, we requested a microwave to heat up some take out and I think they went out and bought one, because it looked new. Our room was on 76th floor. The beautiful cheese plate and the bottle of sparkling wine was a nice touch and we were so grateful. Breakfast - The breakfast at Atria on the 80th floor is a treat every morning. There is a small buffet section with pastries, juice, fruit, cereal, yogurt, salad and then the menu with the hot dishes. You can order whatever you want when breakfast is included. us when we mentioned that we wanted to get an Australian Open cap. He called the store to make sure they still had them. We gave Charlotte, the front desk manager a small gift and thank you note and in return she gave us 2 Ritz caps, 1 Ritz candle and a leather luggage tag. We were overwhelmed. I think the only other stay at a Ritz that can compare is the Ritz Carlton Langkawi. This was one of our best Marriott stays for hard product and service. It has spoiled us for all future stays. 10 Star.

We were so impressed with our stay at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park. While not one of Marriott's luxury brands, the hotel provided the excellent service you would expect at a St Regis. Check In- We arrived very early in the morning via an Uber from the airport. We inquired about a room upgrade and Nicole swiftly found us a large 1 bedroom suite facing the park. We booked a 5 night stay and didn't know this was during the big Australia Day holiday. The room was ready and we were pleased after a long flight from California. This was the start of an amazing stay. Breakfast - The breakfast at the Sydney Common was delightful and mostly due to the efforts of F&B Manager Max and stellar chef Allen. The food presentation as well as the quality and variety did not disappoint. What a great way to start the day in Sydney. Joel, one of the servers always had a smile for us each morning. Location - The location of the hotel was great. We walked everywhere in Sydney. A short 15 min walk to the Circular Quay and Opera House. The Royal Botanic Gardens and Hyde Park across the street. When we had to take a bus or ferry, it was very close by. Club Lounge - We loved ending our long days of walking in the beautiful Club Lounge. We especially enjoyed meeting Harley and Betty. The food was excellent and enough so that you could make a meal out of it. High end shrimp, oysters, pasta, salads, meats, cheeses, many kinds of desserts and appetizers rotating every night. We mention to Chef Allen that there was no IPA in the Club Lounge and we found out there isn't any in the hotel. But to our surprise, Chef Allen went out and got 2 kinds and 4 cans each and delivered to our room in ice buckets !! Room - The one bedroom suite overlooking the park was spacious and we were very grateful for the upgrade.

Shout out to our family at Marriott Irvine Spectrum. We had a awesome NUA upgrade to corner 1 bedroom executive suite. Huge floor to ceiling windows, full kitchen, 1 1/2 bath, spacious bath/bedroom and wood floors. The M Lounge staff is wonderful, Matthew William Putman, Cristina, Emily, Francisco and server Kurt. Full breakfast, eggs, potato, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, pastries, bagel, toast, fruit, juice, coffee, tea. Evening is full dinner, salad, appetizers, desserts, protein, veggie and rice/potato. High quality foods. No free alcohol. Front desk staff is friendly, Amanda, Jada, guest relations and manager Charlene. They added daily $20. Destination fee ($10. daily food credit and other benefits). They didn't tell us at Check-In, so Amanda waived the fee and also got parking $55. daily waived. We got in room treats and specialty waters. We love the pool and jacuzzi, 74 degree day in So Calif. Restaurant and Rooftop bar is very popular. Excellent location next to I-5 and 405. We go to Paris every year and have stayed at various Marriott hotels. This is our first stay at Marriott Opera Ambassador. I chose this hotel for the price, location and club lounge. The other great hotel for location is the Renaissance Vendome but much pricier. Location - The location is stellar. The metro station is 1/2 block and train RER station is probably 2 blocks. The Opera and Galerie Lafayette is 1 block. We bought the 1 week metro pass and only used it a few times. We walked everywhere !! From the Tour Eiffel to Marais to Left Bank. Room- We booked the Superior Room, lowest tier room. Submitted 10 NUA and was denied. The hotel upgraded us to Jr Suite and it was very spacious. It looked onto the street and we never heard any noise, except our last night we heard the guests in the next room talking til 2 am. Bottled was supplied daily and they have water and ice machines in the hall. The room was nice with wood floors. Very limited English TV. Bottle of champagne in our room. Club Lounge - The Club Lounge was fantastic as everyone says. Breakfast buffet is salad, meats, cheese, pastry/bread, juice, coffee/tea, fruit, yogurt, cereal, eggs, bacon, mushrooms. Rajeeb was so friendly and nice. Breakfast is also available in the lobby restaurant, same food as lounge with the addition of an egg station. You can get your cooked eggs and bring up to the lounge. For dinner buffet, the hot dish changed every night. Desserts, fruit, beer, wine. Valerie and Kishor were so helpful. It was fun hanging out in the lounge and we met some nice people. Seems like a lot of Americans at this hotel. Great view of Sacre Coeur and Tour Eiffel from the lounge. We saved so much on dining by eating in the lounge for much of our stay.

We chose the St Regis because we booked on points and got the book 5 nights get one free. The total points was 222,000 for 5 nights and I thought that was great for St Regis stay. Our booking was for the standard Superior Room, 452 sq ft, but got upgraded to St Regis 1 bedroom suite. Location- I was worried that the hotel was far from the major sites, but a pleasant walk through the park across the street lead to the main road on the Bosphorus. The tram stop is about a block and a half. Also, here is the ferry terminal for rides on the Bosphorus. We enjoyed walking and taking the tram around, so the location for us was fine. There is a nice grocery store on the next block for drinks and snacks. Room Upgrade- We had submitted 5 NUA and they were denied, but the hotel gave us a nice upgrade to St Regis 1 bedroom suite overlooking the Macka Park. 613 sq ft. Fruit and cookies with nice note was in our room. Water provided daily. Engin, the Director of Front Office was helpful our entire stay. Housekeeping is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast - Traditional Turkish breakfast was choice of egg dish, cheese, pastries, juice, coffee, fruit, yogurt, tomato/cucumber, olives, honey/butter. Our server over the 5 days warmed up to us and on the last day, he gave us a box of Turkish Delights. The front desk indicated this gift signified that he felt like we were family and is traditional to give gifts. Spa - We toured the Spa on the lower level and there is a small pool, but we didn't use it. Overall, we had a nice stay and grateful for the lovely room upgrade. The staff were friendly and the price was right. Our upgraded suite was normally $1,200. night and we got it for 222,000 points for 5 nights. At check out, they presented us with a beautiful Turkish Glass Eye, and it is believed to protect from the evil eye.

Titanium EliteBooked room→One Bedroom Suite (2 nights), then Pavilion Suite with private pool (3 nights)Upgraded
    • Welcome gift

One of our favorite resorts is St Regis Bali. Over the years, the rates have skyrocketed and this trip we chose the Ritz Carlton Bali down the street for almost half the cost. We booked with our Stars travel agent and got Free Breakfast and $100. Resort Credit. Peter (GM at Ta'aktana) said he'd call his friend, Go Kondo (GM at Ritz) to let him know we were coming. At check in, we got a nice Titanium upgrade to 1 bedroom suite for 2 nights and Pavilion Suite with private pool for 3 nights. The 1 bedroom suite was bigger, but laid out in a maze. The Pavilion Suite was a welcomed change. The breakfast is vast and amazing. We met head chef, Kojong and breakfast chef Ariana. The staff is lovely and chef Kojong heard I like Blueberry Jam and he made some specially for my toast. The Director of Culinary is Raymond and the entire team is stellar. Darma, (front desk supervisor) who we met at check-in was so helpful and kind. He brought us gifts, balloons, cake, bracelets, pj, big bouquet of flowers and stuffed animals. He was very attentive and friendly. The pool and beach was very nice and there was a vendor with camels that you could ride ! We had dinner at The Beach Grill a couple of nights and the food was excellent. We could use our resort credit to cover some costs. The resort was very busy when we were there with weddings and other events. It's a relatively large resort on the hillside. How do I compare it to St Regis? It feels a bit tired and outdated, but still maintained well. It feels more crowded and busy. For the price, I think it's good. Overall, we had a very nice stay. Raymond and Kojong came to the lobby to say farewell when we departed and it was sad to leave.
