Staying at the JW Shanghai Tomorrow Square. We got upgraded to a Suite at the 59th floor (highest floor). The room is spacious with high ceiling. The executive lounge is also on the 59th floor, and there is a library on the 60th (world highest). Strangely the front desk reception is on the 38floor incl the main restaurant. On the 1st floor, the concierge desk is there. You can’t go from 59th to 1st floor directly, you will have to pass by the 38th or 5th floor. The executive lounge is spacious and has a nice view of the city. They serve breakfast, tea time, and dinner for Elite members. You can also get breakfast on the 38th floor restaurant which has more food selection. The staffs are amazing, always smiling and willing to help.

We checked in at 10:30am at the Westin Bund Center downtown Shanghai. Once we arrived at the front desk, the lady at the front desk called the hotel Director who came and greeted us. He said we got upgraded from standard room to the highest suite on the 11th floor. The Director escorted us personally to our suite on the 11th floor. The suite is amazing and luxury. My wife and I toured the hotel and we were very impressed. The staff are always willing to help and welcoming. Hotel is located close to the Bund, and walking distance to most attractions, shopping, and restaurants. The Executive lounge is spacious and has plenty of selections. I strongly recommend this Westin if you plan to visit Shanghai.

Upgraded from standard room to full Suite at the Fairfield Beijing International airport. This is the highest suite they have, very modern rooms, very clean, great staffs. About 5-10mns shuttle from Beijing International airport. Interestingly, you either get the breakfast or the 500 welcome gift, but not both like in the US.

Checked in today at the Sheraton Dubrovnik Croatia. We arrived at 11am. Front desk (Lorena) was very welcoming with a smile and said our upgraded room was not ready yet, she offered us a voucher for a drink/snacks at the restaurant bar until the room was ready. The assistant general manager came to greet us as well, and thanked us for being a loyal Elite, just amazing. While waiting at the bar, Lorena came to us and told us by surprise that they upgraded us to a full suite on top floor. I’m including some pictures of the suite. Sheraton Dubrovnik has an amazing service, staffs are geared toward customer satisfaction and providing top services, and hotel is very clean (or fully renovated). We are very happy to be here. This is the only Marriott in this area. If you visit Dubrovnik, do not hesitate to consider the Sheraton.

Checked in last night at the Delta Montreal. Upon waiting in line at the front desk, the manager walked to me and greeted me with my name, she recognized me after all these time (I stayed there multiple times before as Ambassador). Used a FNA for a standard room, and got upgraded to a full 1bedroom suite (vice Presidential suite) on high floor. Got my 1000pts welcome gift without asking, and 2 full hot breakfast vouchers at the restaurant. The suite is very clean and spacious, they even gave me 2 bottles of champagne, chocolate, and cake for my bday. The front desk and staffs were so nice. This hotel is full of families with kids, this hotel is really family oriented. I stayed in most or all hotels in Montreal, honestly the Delta is one of my best. If you do travel to Montreal, do consider staying at the Delta Montreal. Update. I forgot the Delta was closing in Sept. I will check if it will be replaced by another Marriott.

After the W Nashville (see my other review this week), we are trying the Sheraton Grand Nashville today. We got upgraded to a full suite, but at a lower floor (they did not have a high floor upgrade when we checked in at 10am). We met the GM at the lobby, very nice guy! Breakfast is included for Elites, with a $25/pp/day coupon, club lounge on 24th floor is only serving breakfast during weekday. Parking is very expensive ($55/d) and pretty full, it is managed by a 3rd party company. Hotel is nice but seems more busy than the W. Will try the JW, Westin, and the Renaissance next time we are back to Nashville.

My wife and I checked in at the W Nashville, she is a LPE. Upgraded to a Suite on high floor. Got sparkling wine and bottle of water, free breakfast, $120 credit toward hotel restaurants and bar. Will try the roof bar tomorrow.

Me and my wife checked in today at the Marriott Malta Resort and Spa. Front desk said they expected us and thanked us for being loyal Elites. Got upgraded from a standard room to a full 1 bedroom suite high floor with sea view and balcony (i think this is their highest suite). Upon entering the room, we found a colorful flower bouquet (for Mother’s Day), sparkling wine, bottles of water, chocolate, cookies, 2 luggage tag gifts, accompagned with a letter from the GM, and a nice welcoming decor in our king bed. They gave us 2 discount coupons for massages and spa, which we will use during our stay. The rooms are very clean. They gave us access to their MClub lounge for breakfast and happy hours. I also used the welcome gift for a full hot buffet breakfast at the restaurant (giving me the choice between the lounge and restaurant). The staffs are amazing, very nice and welcoming. The GM spends time with the guests at the MClub each morning, and it’s very nice of him to meet with each Elite. I posted some pictures of the MClub. This is our first time in Malta, we looked at other Marriott brands but decided to chose the Marriott Resort & Spa because of the great reviews posted here and other Bonvoy groups. If you do plan to visit Malta, do consider staying at this resort, i think you will be impressed.

Stayed couple nights at this TownePlace in Brooklyn NY. We had 2 reservations, one under me (as Ambassador) and one under my wife name (she’s Platinum Elite). Front desk did not acknowledge our status nor given any upgrade. They told us they were full. The next day i asked another front desk agent, and she said there were 26 rooms available and plenty of upgrades. Puzzling… I asked for a bottle of water, and they said I could buy one. The bed sheet had a stain and one towel was dirty. They did give us 2 replacement towels but could not change the sheet bc they do the room service every 3 days. Not impressed. We asked for hand soap, front desk said they will deliver to our room, we never received any. One of the room on the 4th floor had Ants. But they did not had other rooms to switch us. Breakfast was below average, sausage was undercooked, no orange juice, ‘bold’ coffee in the dispenser was just too light, no coffee cream (only milk). I do not recomment the Towneplace Brooklyn if you are an Elite. We stayed at Towneplaces in other States and never had these issues. The services in Brooklyn really needs to improve.

After a lengthy 20h+ journey from Boston, we arrived at the Sheraton Grand Taipei, and we're excited to spend the week here. I initially considered the Marriott Taipei, the Sheraton Grand, the Courtyard, and the Meridien, but ultimately chose the Sheraton Grand based on recommendations from fellow Elites. The hotel's impressive amenities, including a club on the 17th floor of the East wing, have exceeded our expectations. We were warmly welcomed at the front desk and upgraded to the Club level on the 15th floor, complete with a 1000-point welcome gift. We opted to use the points to upgrade our breakfast to a full buffet at the Kitchen 12 restaurant lounge, which offered an incredible spread of international cuisine. Our room, while not an upgrade, was clean, modern, and featured a state-of-the-art Toto smart toilet. We've been impressed with the hotel's commitment to sustainability, evident in their decision to discontinue providing disposable bathroom amenities. While we appreciate the hotel's efforts, we do hope they will begin to recognize and reward the different elite tiers in the future. The hotel's amenities, including the club lounge and fitness center, have been top-notch, and the staff has been incredibly friendly and accommodating. We're looking forward to exploring Taipei and experiencing all that the city has to offer.
